For the longest time I didn’t really care about Space. I wasn’t one of those kids who grew up wanting to be an astronaut. I’m guessing that it was because it felt like in the 90’s, space exploration didn’t seem to be serving a specific need, and budget cut after budget cut for NASA made sure it wasn’t going anywhere.

Fast forward to today. For a multitude of reason space exploration has been on my mind lately. Perhaps it all started with that video of the Grasshopper and subsequent digging deeper into Elon Musk’s biography. He’s a fascinating entrepreneur and inventor. Perhaps it was realizing what many people like him have already known. It was the beginning of realizing how excessive we are in our consumption, and that the only way we are going to save the human race is by finding another planet to go to, after we are done killing off everything that ever lived here.

I believe travel in Space will be something we’ll be able to experience at a mass scale level in our lifetime, probably reserved to an elite few, but it will happen. Today feels like that time in the previous century when the first airlines were launching their first commercial flights. It’s exciting and at the same time like a simple necessity that we should have figure out a long time. Or does it really matter? Entropy will catch up with all of us in the end

At any rate, this video made me want to get on one of those flights. As I was watching it, Made Men came to mind, and I couldn’t help avoid thinking that it could have easily been funded by SpaceX or whatever other company is going to take us out on our first space flight. To get the juices going.
